OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed center Kendrick Perkins to a multiyear contract extension. The team didn’t announce the terms in its announcement Tuesday.

General manager Sam Presti says the team is happy to Perkins and his “blue-collar, team-first approach” as part of the Thunder’s “core group” of players.

The Celtics sent Perkins to Oklahoma City last week at the trade deadline along with Nate Robinson in exchange for Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic and a future first-round pick.

The 6-foot-10 Perkins was the 27th overall pick in the 2003 draft. He recently returned from a knee injury he sustained in Game 6 of the NBA finals.
