CLEVELAND (AP) — Trevon Harmon scored a career-high 24 points and Cleveland State breezed to an 83-59 win over Illinois-Chicago on Saturday.
Harmon was 7 of 10 from the field, going 4 of 7 from 3-point range, and made 6 of 8 free throws for the Vikings (15-1, 4-0 Horizon League), who won their 12th straight home game.
After Harmon hit a 3 with 50 seconds elapsed, Cleveland State never trailed. The Vikings shot just 38.9 percent in the first half (14 of 36), but improved to 53.6 percent in the second (15 of 28).
The Flames (5-10, 0-3), who have lost seven of their last eight, attempted only 42 field goals, making 17, but were 20 of 32 from the free-throw line.
