CHICAGO (AP) — Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao was inactive and guard Mo Williams and Daniel Gibson were held out of the starting lineup against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday because of injuries.

Varejao, averaging 9.3 points and 9.8 rebounds, broke his cheekbone Wednesday night in a loss at Charlotte and will also miss a home game Sunday against t Dallas. Coach Byron Scott says the Cavaliers are waiting for the swelling to go down so he can be fitted for a facemask and hope to have him back against Toronto on Wednesday. Leon Powe started in Varejao’s place Saturday.

Williams (left hip flexor strain) and Gibson (thigh) were not on the inactive list but were out of the lineup, leaving the Cavaliers without their top two guards and two of their top three scorers in addition to their leading rebounder. Ramon Sessions started at the point in their place.

Williams, averaging a team-leading 15.3 points, did not play against Charlotte. Gibson, third on the team at 13.7 points, left that game in the third quarter.
