Morehead State beats College of Charleston 69-49

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — Demonte Harper scored 28 points and Kenneth Faried had a double-double to lead Morehead State over the College of Charleston 69-49 on Sunday.

Harper was 11 of 18 from the field as the Eagles — who averaged a shooting percentage of 47.3 coming in — made 56.6 percent from the field (30 of 53) against the Cougars (9-5).

Faried, the nation’s No. 1 rebounder (13.9 per game) scored 20 points on 10 of 14 shooting and had 13 rebounds as Morehead State (9-6) outrebounded Charleston 39-22. It was Faried’s nation-leading 13th double-double of the season.

Morehead State was 7 of 17 from 3-point range (41.2 percent), led by a 4-of-7 effort from Harper. The Eagles led 33-16 at halftime.

Morehead State held country’s sixth-leading scorer in Andrew Goudelock (24.1 points per game) in check throughout the game. Goudelock finished with just seven points on 3-of-11 shooting.
