MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin finally reached the Rose Bowl to cap a successful season after an 11-year absence. The Badgers will have a lot of work to do to return to the Big Ten’s biggest game.
Wisconsin (11-2) has 13 seniors on the two-deep depth chart and may lose defensive end J.J. Watt, running back John Clay and perhaps other underclassmen to the NFL draft.
Coach Bret Bielema will need to find replacements for quarterback Scott Tolzien, offensive linemen Gabe Carimi and John Moffitt, and tight end Lance Kendricks.
Bielema also may have major changes in his coaching staff.
Defensive coordinator Dave Doeren was named coach of Northern Illinois on Dec. 13, while offensive coordinator Paul Chryst reportedly is being mentioned for several jobs.
