Texas-Arlington beats Houston Baptist 72-57

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Brandon Edwards had 14 points and 11 rebounds as Texas-Arlington beat Houston Baptist 72-57 Wednesday night.

The Mavericks (6-7) shot 58 percent from the field and had five players score in double figures.

Bo Ingram scored 13 points, Jordan Reves scored 12 and Cameron Catlett and LaMarcus Reed had 11 apiece for Texas-Arlington.

Andrew Gonzalez led Houston Baptist (1-12) with 15 points. Terry Bembry had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies and Shawn Echols scored 13 points.

The Huskies made a run in the second half after their coach, Ron Cottrell, was ejected with 12:51 to play. They outscored the Mavericks 11-4 to cut a 12-point lead to 48-43, but Texas-Arlington then ran off the next eight points and wasn’t threatened again.
