SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Gov.-elect John Kitzhaber has tapped a veteran businessman to lead his staff when he takes office next week.

Kitzhaber’s transition team announced Thursday that Curtis Robinhold will be chief of staff. Robinhold was most recently the chief executive of a financial firm focused on energy-related investments. He worked for Kitzhaber in 1995, at the beginning of the former governor’s first term in office.

Robinhold was among 10 Kitzhaber advisers announced on Thursday. Others include communications director Tim Raphael, who worked most recently as western representative for the American Wind Energy Association, and legislative director Brian Shipley, who held a similar job for outgoing governor Ted Kulongoski.
