Morehead State beats Tennessee State 76-64

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — Kenneth Faried notched another double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds as Morehead State defeated Tennessee Tech 76-64 Thursday night.

Faried, who was named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Watch List earlier Thursday, leads the nation in rebounding (13.8 per game) and double-doubles with 14.

The Eagles (10-6, 3-2 Ohio Valley Conference) trailed 9-0 after a layup by Jud Dillard with 16:32 left in the opening half. But Morehead State scored the next 19 points — led by seven points from Arthur McMillan — to lead by 10 with 10:31 to go.

Eight straight points from the Golden Eagles (6-7, 2-2) made the score 19-17 in favor of Morehead State as the Eagles headed into the break with a 32-28 advantage.

The Eagles shot 48.1 percent in the second half (13 of 27) to pull away.

Dillard finished with 20 points and nine rebounds to lead Tennessee Tech.
