Sacred Heart beats Fairleigh Dickinson 67-50

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Jerrell Thompson scored 18 points and Sacred Heart came from behind to beat Fairleigh Dickinson 67-50 in a Northeast Conference game Thursday night.

The Pioneers (6-8, 1-2) trailed 28-23 at halftime, but held Fairleigh Dickinson to 25-percent shooting (6 of 24) in the second half to earn their fifth win in six games.

Evan Kelley scored 14 points and Chris Evans added 13 for Sacred Heart, which outscored the Knights 44-22 in the second half.

Kamil Svrdlik scored 13 points and was the only player in double figures for Fairleigh Dickinson (3-9, 2-1). John Galvin scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Knights.

The Pioneers scored 21 points off of 21 turnovers and outscored Fairleigh Dickinson 12-0 on fast-break points.

The Knights, who have lost six consecutive games, managed only two field goals over the final 5:57 and committed 14 second-half turnovers.
