ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Chris Wroblewski scored 29 points to lead Cornell to a 60-52 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday.
Wroblewski hit four 3-pointers and was 9 of 10 from the free-throw line as Cornell (4-10) won for the second time in three games.
The Big Red led throughout the second half, but couldn’t pull away. Cornell scored six consecutive points for a 49-39 lead with 4:55 left, but Stony Brook’s Danny Carter countered with a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 49-42 with 4:27 to play.
The Seawolves (6-8) cut it to 56-50 on Bryan Dougher’s three-point play, but couldn’t get closer as Wroblewski hit four free throws in the final 27 seconds.
