A Skamania County man was arrested in Oregon late Friday after he crashed into a patrol car he was trying to elude, police say.

Aaron Bradley Roth, 25, of Carson, was taken into custody after a 15-minute chase near Estacada, in rural Clackamas County.

According to Oregon State Police, a trooper attempted to stop a 1986 Toyota 4Runner near McIver State Park for a brake light violation. Instead, the driver accelerated to 70 mph until he missed a curve on Redland Road.

As the trooper approached, the Toyota veered back onto the road, hit the patrol car, and continued westbound. Another officer ahead of the pursuit deployed a spike strip and shredded one of the Toyota’s tires. At that point, the Toyota’s driver, identified as Roth, stopped and was arrested on suspicion of felony attempting to elude a vehicle, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, and misdemeanor hit-and-run driving.

The patrol car suffered minor damage. No one was reported injured.
