OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Washington’s Legislature convenes its 105-day session in Olympia.

Some new members of the Legislature will be sworn into office, among other ceremonial flourishes. But legislators will have to get down to business soon enough, patching the current year’s budget and fixing another $4.6 billion deficit in the upcoming two-year budget.

Initiative promoter Tim Eyman also plans to file his latest direct democracy measure with the secretary of state. And on Tuesday, Gov. Chris Gregoire gives her state of the state speech.

Democrats hold the majority in both the House and Senate.
