OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The United Football League has announced that TD Ameritrade chairman Joe Moglia will coach the Omaha Nighthawks next season rather than the expansion Virginia Destroyers.
Moglia replaces the fired Jeff Jagodzinski.
Moglia has been executive adviser to Nebraska coach Bo Pelini for two years. He was named the Destroyers’ coach in November.
UFL Commissioner Michael Huyghue said Wednesday’s move was fueled by fans who launched a Facebook campaign urging him to name Moglia the new Nighthawks coach.
Moglia coached for 16 years and served as Dartmouth’s defensive coordinator before joining the business world in 1983.
