CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Sam McLaurin scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Coastal Carolina ran its winning streak to a school-record 13 games with a 74-69 victory over Winthrop Thursday night.

Chad Gray finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and a career-high four steals, while Anthony Raffa and Dexter Moore added 12 points apiece. Coastal Carolina’s previous record winning streak of 12 was achieved twice — in the 2005-06 and 2009-10 seasons.

The Chanticleers (15-2, 6-0 Big South Conference) won without leading scorers Desmond Holloway, who did not practice this week, and Mike Holmes, who has been suspended indefinitely for undisclosed reasons. Holloway has an unexplained bruised eye.

Robbie Dreher led Winthrop (7-9, 3-3) with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Andre Jones finished with 16 points and was 3 for 4 from 3-point range.
