Nobles leads IUPUI past North Dakota State 67-64

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Leroy Nobles scored 22 points and Alex Young had 19 to lead IUPUI past North Dakota State 67-64 on Thursday night.

Young, who leads the Jaguars (10-9, 4-2 Summit League) in scoring at 18.3 points per contest, also had seven rebounds. Stephen Thomas made 7 of 11 shots and finished with 15 points for IUPUI, winners of five of its last six games.

IUPUI fell behind 9-2 five minutes into the game, but the Jaguars outscored the Bison 24-15 to take a 26-24 lead at the half. IUPUI built leads of nine points on three occasions in the second half and stretched its advantage to 10 points, 65-55, with 4:27 remaining on a 3-pointer from Nobles.

Drew Lundberg led the Bison (9-7, 3-3) with 13 points while their top shooter, Michael Tveidt, struggled. The senior forward, 50th in the nation in shooting at 54 percent, made just 2 of 11 shots, which included a 3-pointer at the buzzer. He finished with five points. Taylor Braun scored 12 points and Marshall Bjorklund 10 for the Bison.
