SEATTLE (AP) — The University of Washington Bothell and Bellevue College are partnering to offer cooperative admissions for international business students.

The new program is expected to begin in the Fall of 2012, when a class of 20 students will be jointly admitted to Bellevue College and the University of Washington Bothell.

The students will first complete two years at Bellevue College, earn a two-year business degree and improve their English. Then they will transfer directly to UW Bothell to work toward a bachelor’s degree in business.

University officials say Bellevue College is the main source of transfer students into the UW Bothell business program. The university says it decided to partner with Bellevue College because of its experience in not just educating international students but helping them acclimate to U.S. culture.

Chancellor Kenyon S. Chan of UW Bothell and President Jean Floten of Bellevue College will sign a partnership agreement next week at Bellevue College.
