KELSO, Wash. (AP) — A 33-year-old man who was shot in the buttocks with an arrow after breaking into an unoccupied Kelso, Wash., home has been sentenced to a year in prison. Galen Crayne earlier pleaded guilty to a burglary charge.
He was sentenced Wednesday.
Police say Crayne was trying to get away with a box of items after the Dec. 13, 2009, break-in when he was confronted by Scott Schwingdorf, who lived next door. Police say the neighbor grabbed his compound bow, chased the intruder and wounded him with a hunting arrow.
The prosecutor’s office chose not to charge Schwingdorf for firing the arrow.
