AUCKLAND, New Zealand (AP) — Top-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer has won his second Heineken Open title, beating Argentina’s David Nalbandian 6-3, 6-3.

Ferrer, ranked No. 7 in the world, added to the title he won in 2007 when he eclipsed the former world No. 3 Nalbandian in 68 minutes on Saturday.

In an impressive prelude to next week’s Australian Open, Ferrer broke Nalbandian’s serve in the eighth game of the first set, serving out the set at his first opportunity. He then gained service breaks in the fifth and seventh games of the second set to clinch his 10th career title.
