ST. LOUIS (AP) — Pitchers Miguel Batista and Ian Snell have agreed to minor league contracts with the St. Louis Cardinals and have been invited to spring training.

The Cardinals made the announcement Friday.

Batista was 1-2 with a 3.70 ERA in 58 games for Washington last season. The right-hander turns 40 next month. He has pitched for nine teams in the majors over 16 seasons.

Snell split last year between Seattle and Triple-A. The 29-year-old righty was 0-5 with a 6.41 ERA for the Mariners.

Snell won a career-high 14 games for Pittsburgh in 2006.
