Furman routs Georgia Southern 74-56

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Amu Saaka scored 21 points and Furman snapped a four-game road losing streak Saturday against Georgia Southern with a 74-56 win.

The Paladins led 42-23 at halftime but Georgia Southern cut the lead to six points at 60-54 at 5:23 to go on a basket by Rory Spencer. Furman closed the game on a 14-2 run.

Darryl Evans and Justin Dehm each scored 14 points for the Paladins (12-5, 4-2 Southern Conference), who have won four of the past five games in the series.

Furman built its first half lead on 14 of 22 shooting (63.6 percent) and made 23 of 44 (52.3 percent) field goal attempts for the game. The Eagles (4-15, 0-6) made only 20 of 55 field goal attempts (36.4 percent).

Ben Drayton scored 16 points, Spencer added 13 and Zuri James had 12 for the Eagles, who have lost six straight games and eight of their past nine.
