Powell, Arkansas rally to defeat Alabama 70-65

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Marshawn Powell scored 17 points as Arkansas remained undefeated at home this season in rallying for a 70-65 victory over Alabama on Saturday.

The Razorbacks trailed by 10 points in the first half before taking their first lead on a dunk by Powell to go up 64-63. After Trevor Releford put the Crimson Tide back up 65-64 with a pair of free throws, Rotnei Clarke gave Arkansas the lead for good 66-65 with a jumper after an inbounds pass.

The Razorbacks, who had four players in double figures, then forced Alabama turnovers on back-to-back possessions and hit free throws in the closing minute to secure the win. Arkansas (12-4, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) is now 11-0 in Fayetteville this season.

Releford led Alabama (10-7, 2-1) with 17 points, while JaMychal Green added 16 and Tony Mitchell 14.
