COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — The Danish Cycling Federation says cyclist Philip Nielsen tested positive for clenbuterol during last year’s Tour of Mexico.

The federation quoted Nielsen as saying in a statement Tuesday that he is “absolutely certain that he has not taken the substance knowingly.” Nielsen was a member of the lower-level Team Concordia when he rode the Tour of Mexico in April and May.

Italian rider Alessandro Colo was suspended for clenbuterol during the same race.

Alberto Contador tested positive for clenbuterol in winning his third Tour de France title last year. A ruling on his case is pending.
