MIAMI (AP) — Right-handers Leo Nunez and Edward Mujica have avoided arbitration by agreeing to one-year contracts with the Florida Marlins.

Nunez spent much of last year as the Marlins’ closer and struggled at times, losing the job in September. He had 30 saves in 38 chances with an ERA of 3.46.

He’s 56 for 71 in saves over the past two seasons and is the front-runner for the closer’s job this year.

The Marlins acquired Mujica in November in a trade with San Diego. He had a 3.62 ERA in 69 2-3 innings last year for the Padres.
