Creighton beats Bradley 81-68

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Doug McDermott had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Creighton to an 81-68 victory over Bradley Wednesday night.

Gregory Echenique also had 17 points for the Bluejays (13-7, 5-3 Missouri Valley). Josh Jones scored 14 points, Darryl Ashford 11 and Kenny Lawson Jr. had 10 for Creighton. Lawson, who had started 92 straight games for the Bluejays, played 18 minutes off the bench.

Andrew Warren led the Braves (6-13, 0-8) with 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting. Dyricus Simms-Edwards scored 19 points for Bradley and Walt Lemon Jr. scored 11.

Bradley scored the game’s first basket, and it was 10-10 with 12 minutes left in the half. But Creighton scored the next 11 points and opened up a 49-24 lead at the half, and maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
