HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Charles Jenkins scored 22 points, including seven consecutive points late in the game, as Hofstra rallied for a 66-57 win over North Carolina-Wilmington on Wednesday night.
Mike Moore added 18 points and David Imes had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Pride (12-6, 6-1 Colonial Athletic Association), who have won six straight games against the Seahawks (9-9, 3-4).
Jenkins’ outburst was part of a 14-2 run to erase a five-point deficit.
He broke a 52-52 tie with a 3-pointer with 4:32 left. Jenkins then hit a jumper, rebounded a UNC Wilmington miss and added two free throws for a 59-52 lead with 3:14 to play.
Chad Tomko’s jumper cut the deficit to 59-54, but Moore converted a three-point play with 2:28 remaining and the Pride led by at least seven the rest of the way.
