GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Utah Valley hit game-tying baskets at the close of three different periods Thursday night to outlast North Dakota 107-96 in four overtimes.
The Wolverines (10-8, 2-0 Great West) got 30 points from Isiah Williams, 24 from Jordan Swarbrick and 23 from Ben Aird to defeat the Fighting Sioux (8-10, 1-1).
“I don’t think I’ve ever been involved in a game like this. This was one for the ages,” Utah Valley coach Dick Hunsaker said. “A game like that makes you humble.”
Utah Valley got a basket from Holton Hunsaker with 7 seconds left in regulation to tie the game 56-56; a pair of free throws from Swarbrick with 48 seconds remaining in the first overtime to tie it at 71-71; and 1 of 2 free throws from Swarbrick with 3 seconds left in the third overtime to make it 91-91.
Aaron Anderson had 19 points and Troy Huff 16 for North Dakota.
