MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota coach Tubby Smith says he has not decided if star forward Trevor Mbakwe will start on Sunday against Iowa.

Mbakwe was benched at the start of Thursday night’s victory over Purdue after he was arrested for violating a restraining order by sending an ex-girlfriend a message on Facebook.

Mbakwe was one of the first players off the bench for the Gophers in the game. He had seven points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. He leads the Big Ten with 10.4 rebounds per game.

Colton Iverson started in Mbakwe’s place against the Boilermakers. Smith said before practice on Saturday that he liked the approach Iverson has taken with his differing roles and didn’t rule out starting him again on Sunday against the Hawkeyes.
