CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tyshwan Edmondson scored 23 points and Austin Peay never trailed in cruising to an 80-66 win over Jacksonville State on Saturday night.

The Governors (13-8, 7-2 Ohio Valley Conference), who ended a two-game skid, have won seven of their last nine.

Still reeling from a 71-68 loss Thursday to Tennessee Tech in which it blew three seven-point leads in the second half, Austin Peay shot 60 percent from the field in the first half (15 of 25).

Tied at 15 with 8:51 to go before halftime, Austin Peay used a 16-2 run to take command.

After the Gamecocks (2-18, 0-9) got to 41-36 in the second half, the Governors responded with a 5-0 run. Jacksonville State could get no closer than seven after that to lose its 14th straight.

Josh Terry added 16 points for Austin Peay.

Nick Murphy had 18 points and eight rebounds for the Gamecocks, who outrebounded the Governors 29-26.
