WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Charles Jenkins had 22 points and eight assists as Hofstra remained in first place in the Colonial Athletic Association by defeating William & Mary 67-64 Saturday.

Jenkins gave the Pride (13-6, 7-1) the lead for good on a jumper with 6:26 left, but the Tribe (6-13, 2-6) kept the pressure on. They had two chances to take the lead in the final minute, but Brandon Britt, who led William & Mary with 24 points, missed a layup with 29 seconds left and committed a turnover with 2 seconds to go.

It was the first time in five games that Jenkins had scored at least 20 against the Tribe — something he’d accomplished against every other conference team. Until Saturday, the Tribe had held Jenkins, the reigning CAA Player of the Year, to a 14.3-point average.

Hofstra’s Mike Moore had 13 points while Greg Washington added 12 points and nine rebounds, going 6 for 6 from the field.
