MIAMI (AP) — Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland has signed a multi-year contract extension with the team.
The Dolphins announced the signing Saturday. Ireland was brought in from the Dallas Cowboys after the Dolphins’ 1-15 season in 2007 and has overseen an overhaul of the team’s roster.
Dolphins owner Steve Ross said in a statement that the decision to extend the contract was an easy one. He praised the young talent Ireland has added to the team.
The Dolphins finished 7-9 and failed to make the playoffs for the eighth time in the last nine seasons.
