CHAUX-NEUVE, France (AP) — David Kreiner of Austria edged Mikko Kokslien of Norway to win a Nordic combined World Cup event on Saturday.

Kreiner’s overall time was 21 minutes, 59.2 seconds, beating Kokslien by 0.6 seconds.

Felix Gottwald of Austria was third, and Jason Lamy-Chappuis finished fourth in front of his home fans at the French resort of Chaux-Neuve.

Despite winning the morning’s ski jump, Lamy-Chappuis could not protect his lead in the afternoon’s 10-kilometer cross-country ski race.

However, the Olympic champion remains first in the overall World Cup standings with 689 points after 10 of 13 events. Kokslien is second with 549, Gottwald third at 476.
