Mangano leads Yale to 59-51 win over Brown

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Greg Mangano had 17 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks to lift Yale to a 59-51 victory over Brown on Saturday.

Jeremiah Kreisberg added 13 points for the Bulldogs (9-7, 2-0 Ivy League), who swept Brown this season and have won four consecutive games.

Mangano entered the game ranked 19th in the nation in rebounding (10.2) and 25th in blocked shots (36, 2.4 per game).

Yale led the entire second half, including 34-20 with 17:26 to play. Brown (7-9, 0-2) twice cut the deficit to seven points, including on Tucker Halpern’s 3-pointer with 34 seconds to play, but couldn’t get closer.

The Bears shot only 26.1 percent from the field (18 of 69).

Yale shot 7.1 percent from the 3-point line (1 of 14) and 58.3 percent from the free-throw line (14 of 24).

Sean McGonagill led Brown with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Halpern and Peter Sullivan added 11 points each.
