YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Derek Thompson and Darrell Lampley scored 11 points each and Eastern Michigan prevailed over Central Michigan 41-38 on Sunday.

Eastern Michigan (5-13, 2-3 Mid-American) posted its lowest point total of the season, yet it was enough to win. The Eagles scored 48 points in a 17-point loss at Western Michigan on Jan. 16.

In a game that featured more rebounds than points, Central Michigan won the battle of the boards 45-37. But the Chippewas (5-13, 2-3) only shot 23.3 percent from the field — 13.3 percent (4 for 30) in the first half.

Eastern Michigan shot 33 percent.

The Chippewas trailed by 15 but got within 39-38 with 26 seconds left on Finis Craddock’s 3-pointer. Lampley made two free throws for the Eagles and Trey Zeigler missed a tying 3 at the buzzer.

Zeigler led Central Michigan with 13 points. Andre Coimbra had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
