ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Right-hander Darren O’Day and the Texas Rangers have agreed to terms on a $1.25 million, one-year deal, avoiding salary arbitration for the side-arming reliever.

O’Day was 6-2 with a 2.03 ERA in a club-high 72 appearances for the AL champion Rangers last season. He walked only 12 in 62 innings.

With that deal Sunday, AL MVP Josh Hamilton and right-hander Frank Francisco are the only Texas players still eligible for arbitration.

When salary figures were exchanged last week, O’Day asked for $1.4 million, only $350,000 more than what the team offered. The 28-year-old O’Day has a 2.63 ERA in 170 career games for the Los Angeles Angels (2008), New York Mets (2009) and Texas (2009-10).
