Lipscomb upsets Belmont 73-64

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Adnan Hodzic scored 26 points and Brandon Brown added 17 and 10 rebounds to lead Lipscomb to a 73-64 upset win over Belmont on Tuesday night.

The Bisons (12-8, 7-4 Atlantic Sun Conference) shot 60 percent in the second half (15 of 25) to overcome an 18-point deficit and hand Belmont its first conference loss of the season.

The Bruins (18-4, 10-1) led 38-20 with 4:03 left in the opening half, but an 11-2 run by Lipscomb to end the half made the score 40-31 in favor of Belmont at the break.

Jordan Burgason hit a 3-pointer to tie the score at 50 with 7:49 left to play and a layup from Hodzic 26 seconds later gave the Bisons a 52-51 lead.

Lipscomb continued to lead, 65-62, with 1:33 on the clock before ending the game on an 8-2 run.

Drew Hanlen scored 12, Jon House added 11 and Blake Jenkins 10 for the Bruins, who shot 8 of 31 in the second half (25.8 percent).
