The city of Vancouver and Clark County are teaming up to teach the fundamentals of fruit-tree pruning.

A hands-on workshop Thursday afternoon at the county’s Heritage Farm will cover the biology and skills of proper fruit-tree pruning. There will be an opportunity to put those new or improved skills into practice on the terraced food forest at the farm.

The workshop is open to everyone who doesn’t mind getting dirty and can bring their own gloves and pruners (some will be provided but bringing your own is encouraged). The free workshop is sponsored by the city’s Urban Forestry team and the county’s Environmental Services Department.

The workshop is set for 1 to 4 p.m. at the Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St.
