HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Denzel Bowles scored 19 points and James Madison defeated Drexel 60-52 on Wednesday night.
The Dukes (16-6, 6-4 Colonial Athletic Association), who snapped a three-game skid, led 22-21 at halftime before scoring 20 of their 38 second-half points in the paint and scoring all 10 of their points off turnovers in the second half.
Drexel led 39-36 with 7:01 to play, before James Madison scored eight straight. Bowles’ dunk put the Dukes on top 44-39 with 4:10 remaining.
Julius Wells added 13 points for James Madison, which had just nine turnovers, compared to 14 by Drexel (13-7, 5-5).
