Coastal Carolina defeats High Point 82-58

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Desmond Holloway and Chad Gray scored 17 points each to lead Coastal Carolina to an 82-58 victory over High Point, the Chanticleers’ 17th consecutive win.

Sam McLaurin added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Coastal Carolina (19-2, 10-0 Big South Conference), which hasn’t lost since Nov. 18.

Leading 32-24 at halftime, the Chanticleers shot 75.9 percent from the field (22 of 29) in the second half. They opened the second half on an 18-6 run to take a 50-30 lead on Holloway’s free throw with 14:46 remaining.

The Chanticleers pushed their lead to 76-51 on Kierre Greenwood’s 3-pointer with 3:23 to play.

For the game, Coastal Carolina shot 62.3 percent from the field (33 of 53).

Anthony Raffa added 10 points for Coastal Carolina, which outrebounded High Point 37-28.

Nick Barbour led the Panthers (6-13, 3-7) with 14 points and Shay Shine added 10 points.
