Dates of 2 AP NFL awards switched

NEW YORK (AP) — Announcement dates are being switched for The Associated Press NFL awards for Defensive Player of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year.

The swap is being made to facilitate production plans at NFL Network, which is televising the awards for the first time.

Defensive Player will go first, on Monday night, Jan. 31.

Comeback Player will now be presented Saturday night, Feb. 5.

The revised awards schedule:

–Monday, Jan. 31: Defensive Player;

–Tuesday, Feb. 1: Tuesday, Feb. 1: Offense Player of the Year;

–Wednesday, Feb. 2: Coach of the Year;

–Friday, Feb. 4: Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year;

–Saturday, Feb. 5: Comeback Player;

–Sunday, Feb. 6 : Most Valuable Player
