Don’t forget your Discover Pass for WA recreation

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — If you’re headed out for some outdoor recreation this weekend, don’t forget your Discover Pass. The new recreation permit is now required to access state parks and recreation lands.

A few exemptions apply. If you’re camping in a state park, you don’t need the Discover Pass to use the park where you are camping. Those with hunting and fishing licenses do not need the Discover Pass to go onto Department of Fish and Wildlife lands but do need it to use State Parks and Department of Natural Resource lands.

The pass may be purchased online, by telephone or at state parks and in some retail stores.
