Fire destroyed a 10-by-10 foot sauna room tonight at 12416 N.E. 39th St., said Kevin Stromberg of the Vancouver Fire Department.
He said the call came in at 9:14 p.m. and firefighters arrived seven minutes later to find an “add-on” wood-fire heated sauna room ablaze.
He said the family smelled smoke and escaped the house.
Eighteen firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the sauna in 14 minutes and the rest of the house was not damaged, Stromberg said.
Stromberg said the family was able to continue living in their home
The house is owned by Aleksandr and Tatana Medvedskiy, according to Clark County property recrods.
