Talking Points: Solution for diving

What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

Tired of seeing athletes taking a dive while on the field of play?

Boxing referee Genaro Rodriguez was Saturday and did something about it.

During their heavyweight title fight, David Haye went to the canvas repeatedly on slips and flops against Wladimir Klitschko, and finally Rodriguez had enough of it and gave Haye a standing eight count when he went down in the 11th round.

That about took care of that.

2

Enough already about American’s and their lack of tennis skills at Grand Slam events.

Ever heard of the Bryan brothers? They have only won 11 Grand Slam titles after Saturday’s double championship at Wimbledon.

And if you think no one cares about doubles, think again. NBC showed the title match live and there weren’t too many empty seats on Centre Court either.

3

NASCAR has been trying to shorten the amount of time its races are taking in order to increase viewership. However, these green-white-checker finishes aren’t making races any shorter. No, we don’t like winning under yellow but these races that go into “overtime” are just inviting drivers to wreck. And that takes time to clean up.
