Celtic Princess wins Hollywood Park feature

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Celtic Princess pulled away in the final eighth of a mile to win the $150,000 Royal Heroine Mile by 214 lengths at Hollywood Park on Monday.

Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Celtic Princess ran the distance on the turf in 1:33.74 and paid $5.40, $3 and $2.40 as the 17-10 favorite.

Harmonious returned $3.40 and $2.60, while Andina was another 114 lengths back in third and paid $3.40 to show.

Celtic Princess won for the sixth time in 15 career starts and increased her earnings to $330,624. It was the first graded stakes win in the United States for the 7-year-old Brazilian bred.

Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert won the seventh race with Glamorista, giving him 500 career victories at Hollywood Park. The late Bobby Frankel is the career leader with 952 victories.
