LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (AP) — Police on the Oregon coast are searching for a man suspected of abducting an 18-year-old woman at knifepoint from a popular outlet mall.

Lincoln City Police Detective Bud Lane says authorities are looking for a balding Caucasian man with missing front teeth in connection with the Sunday afternoon abduction.

Lane says the man drove the woman a short distance before stopping the car, when she was able to escape with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Police believe the same man forced his way into a Lincoln City motel room at knifepoint about an hour before the abduction. Two maids escaped without injuries.

Lane says the suspect is about 5’10” tall and weighs between 200 and 230 pounds.
