OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — State Auditor Brian Sonntag says he has decided not to run for governor in 2012.
Sonntag said in an email Monday night that he seriously considered a bid after all the encouragement he received from people. The Democrat said his current position remains the place where he can best contribute.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee and Republican Attorney General Rob McKenna have already entered the race. Sonntag was first elected to be state auditor in 1992.
