HALMSTAD, Sweden (AP) — Top-ranked Novak Djokovic will play Ervin Eleskovic on Friday when defending champion Serbia faces Sweden in the Davis Cup quarterfinals.
Djokovic overtook Rafael Nadal as the No. 1-ranked player by reaching the Wimbledon final. He defeated the Spaniard in four sets in the championship match to win his third Grand Slam title.
Viktor Troicki will face Michael Ryderstedt in the opening match, while Janko Tipsarevic and Nenad Zimonjic will face Simon Aspelin and Robert Lindstedt in doubles on Saturday.
Reverse singles will be played on Sunday.
The winning team will face either Kazakhstan or Argentina in the semifinals.
