SEATTLE (AP) — Twenty-seven people have been treated for fireworks-related injuries at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center between Saturday and noon Wednesday.

Hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg told The Seattle Times that 17 of those people were admitted as patients. She says a teenager lost a finger on the Fourth of July when a home-made firework blew up in his hand at a Queen Anne park.

Gregg says the majority of people injured by fireworks and taken to Harborview had finger or hand injuries.
