Autopsy shows Bellingham woman was shot
Thursday, July 7, 2011
BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) -- The death of a woman found in a pool of blood in her Bellingham apartment is a murder case.
An autopsy Wednesday showed that 32-year-old Kriston Dunya was shot in the chest.
Her body was found Tuesday by a co-worker who went to check on her after she didn't show up for her job as a bookstore cashier.
Lt. Rick Sucee told The Bellingham Herald no gun was found and investigators don't have a suspect or motive. Sucee says her estranged husband had been interviewed and is not considered a suspect at this time. He's taking care of their 7-year-old son.
Kriston Dunya wrote several novels and short stories under the name Kriston Peterman-Dunya with her father.
