BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — The Bremerton City Council voted against a $20 car tab fee to help pay for road repairs.

The council voted Wednesday as the city’s Transportation Benefit District.

The Kitsap Sun reports the tax would have raised about $460,000 a year, which would have paid for about a mile of roadway a year.
