Larsson, Arvidsson set up all-Swede semi in Bastad

BASTAD, Sweden (AP) — Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic reached the Swedish Open semifinals after ousting second-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 on Thursday.

Zahlavova Strycova became the highest seed left at No. 7, after fourth-seeded Lourdes Dominquez Lino of Spain lost 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 to Johanna Larsson of Sweden.

Sofia Arvidsson ensured an all-Swedish semifinal when she knocked out 2009 champion Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez of Spain 4-6, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (3). They broke each other only once in the last two sets in their first meeting.

Polona Hercog of Slovenia defeated Vesna Dolonts of Russia 6-2, 6-4, and will face Zahlavova Strycova on Friday.
